Mid Century Modern Renovation in Bells Corners Ottawa
This 1980’s split bungalow was originally built with little thought to user experience in the kitchen and living space. Even working alone in the kitchen was challenging and awkward with the tight layout reminiscent of a space ship or something where space is at a premium.
This active family of 5 with kids from 10 -16 years old needed a home where the kids can pitch in with making meals and cleaning up, a landing spot for their hockey gear and more connection with their lovely yard. They were feeling cramped and crabby because all the cooking and cleanup was falling on mom, after a long day of teaching because it was worse when anyone helped out in such a tiny and secluded space. The dysfunctional house syndrome was weighing them all down and they figured they needed more space.
